DL Info

Jake Westbrook of the Indians is headed for the DL with inflammation in his right elbow. Owners should drop and cut this guy because he's not going to do anything for your team. Go out and grab a bat or a hot starter.

Ryan Zimmerman of the Nationals is on the 15-Day DL with a small tear in his left shoulder. After having strong years in 06/07 Zimmerman was expected to carry a heavy load in a poor lineup and produce .275/22HR's/100RBI's for owners but instead has come out of the gates this slowly and he now find himself on the DL. Owners, keep him on your team unless you can find a way to add him as a sweetener in a deal.

Posada of the Yankees is expected to return on Thursday. This is great news for owners!

Guzman

Christian Guzman of the Nationals is a great pickup right now, even though he'll most likely be gone, but just in case take a look on the wire. This SS is hitting .310, 5HR, 20RBI, and has added 3SB's this season. Guzman can give you some pop with his bat and throw in a few steals but his value is in his day to day stats that he gives you. What I mean by this is he won't hurt you statistically but at the same time he's not the guy you build a team around either.

He is a great option for your middle infield or an extra utility player. Plus, if you do have him on your team, it is a great option as a sweetener in a deal or asking for him in a deal to sweeten it. Bottom line is, this guy should be on fantasy lineups because his numbers add up but add up quietly.

Zimmerman

Ryan Zimmerman of the Nationals has started his 3rd full pro season in a terrible slump. He's currently batting .217 and has 3HR's and 14RBI's through 129 AB's. These numbers are terrible and for owners especially after watching Zimmerman hit 20+HR's and 91+RBI's in the past two seasons. For those who do not own him and want to upgrade their 3B roster spot, try and make a trade for this struggling 3B while his value is low. Most owners have told me they are fed up with Zimmerman's lack of production and some are almost ready to part ways fairly soon unless something happens. Expect Zimmerman to start hitting soon and finish with his normal 20/90 year.

Chad Cordero

Chad Cordero of the Nationals has pitched in 5 games so far and has collected ZERO saves. Owners should not be worried because he is coming back from injury and the team is working him back slowly.

BUT, you might be able to grab him from another team if the owner is a little worried about his health and his zero saves so far this season. Try to make him an offer to see if you can grab Cordero for a below market level price for this guy. Buy low and reap the benefits.
