Myers

Brett Myers of the Phillies seems to have turned things around after a disastrous start to the season. In his past two starts he has pitched 15.1 innings and has allowed only 4ER's while striking out 19. This is what owners were expecting from Myers on draft day. I would try and pick him up as soon as possible before someone else notices his past two starts.

Keep on Raking

Chase Utley of the Phillies is unconscious right now!!!! He just hit his 4th straight HR in as many games. Add to this he has 6 HR's in his past 7 games and 17RBI's. I can't even begin to explain how valuable Utley is to any fantasy roster. Just be glad he is on your roster and not someone elses. He is absolutely amazing!

Josh Hamilton of the Rangers is continuing his sweet swing with another HR last night. He has 3HR's in his last 5 games while batting in 10. It seems like his off-field troubles have been solved and fantasy owners who found him and have him on their rosters should be glad he stopped doing lines and started raking. The only problem I see with Hamilton is he has never competed a full season so he might start to lose steam as the season goes on. But at this moment, enjoy his sweet swing and the top spot in your fantasy leagues.

Ageless Moyer

Jamie Moyer of the Phillies just recorded his 6th win of the season by beating the Florida Marlins. In my eyes, this pitcher should be throwing out batting practice with his low 80's/high 70's fastball. I haver been a fan of pitchers like Maddux and Moyer but they seem to know what it takes to be winners. At this point in the fantasy season, Moyer has proven himself a reliable 3/4th starter in all fantasy formats. He should be owned.

Pedro

Pedro Feliz, not Pedro Martinez, of the Phillies is finding some playing time and has produced. Fantasy owners who are searching for some hitting, look no further, Pedro is here.

In his last 10 games he has 16H's, 1HR, 10RBI's, and has raised his AVG from .227 to .265.

Howard

Ryan Howard of the Phillies seems to have found his stroke, FINALLY. With his 13th HR of the season, Howard has hit 6HR's in his past 10 games. Owners, you better be glad you waited this out. Be ready for Howard to take your team to the next level. The only thing holding him back is his AVG but with his increase in HR's and RBI's the average doesn't mean crap for owners. Expect him to hit .280 for the rest of the season which will leave his final average at around .250-.265, which is is just below his career average.

Ryan Howard

Is Ryan Howard of the Phillies finally jumping back into the box with confidence and ready to take your fantasy team to the next level? Well during his 7 game hitting steak he's hit 3HR's, 6RBI's, and of course 8K's. But if you ask any owner about the high K rate and they will all say the same thing, "As long as he's hitting homers, you just have to take a hit with the K's."

Owners, I think it might be time for you to stop worrying about Howard and move onto another part of your team and focus your attention to a new area. Again, this all goes back to what I seem to always preach during the early stages of any fantasy season, never panic. A stud hitter like Howard and easily fall into a slump for a month or two but for the remaining 4 months he can still pop 35-50HR's and drive in 100!

Posada

J. Posada of the Yankees is still suffering from shoulder soreness and will most likely hit the DL sometime soon. At the present time, Posada is waiting for a second opinion to see if he needs something more serious, like surgery. Owners who have Posada should be a little pissed since he does fit into the top 5 catchers in the bigs. You can't really replace Posada and his stats but you can grab a hot catcher off the wire. I have been touting Kurt Suzuki since the beginning of the year. This A's catcher seems to be legit so far, albeit he has cooled off a bit in the past week.

Here are a few other options at the catchers spot.
- Paul Bako - Reds
- Chris Coste - Phillies
- Greg Zaun - Blue Jays
- Yadier Molina - Cardinals
- Ramon Hernandez - Orioles

Don't go out and trade for another catcher just yet. This is a position, in my opinion, where if you didn't have the chance to draft the top 5 catchers you just go and live on the waiver wire searching for hot hitting catchers. At this point, you just sit back and hope Posada comes back sooner rather than later.
