AJ Burnett of the Blue Jays posted a tremendous performance, in the cold, at Yankee Stadium, throwing 6IP, 5H, 2ER, 1BB, 3K, and 1HR. 2008 is a player option year for Burnett and he holds the cards with respect to a HUGE pay day if he throws a complete year and stays healthy. The one big negative with Burnett is his tendency to be injured. He is still young and has tremendous upside. Owners who drafted him late may be holding a huge return come September.

Wang
C. Wang of the Yankees opened the new and final year at Yankee Stadium with a stellar 7 inning win. As always, Wang is not a big fantasy player but does not mean he is not valuable. He's a big innings eater and seems to provide the big W year in and year out. Happy to see his poor 2007 post-season and 2008 spring numbers are behind him...hopefully.

Beginning of the End
The New York Yankees had to delay their opening day festivities today due to rain. The Yankees were suppose to host the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium which will be replaced at the end of the year with a $1.6 billion stadium.
I wonder how hard front office will push for a World Series ring to close out this historic and iconic stadium.
