Cueto

Did you really expect Johnny Cueto of the Reds to come into the bigs and tear things up like his first start? Come on, really, think about it. This kid who was born in 1986 is not coming into the majors and striking out 10 every time he hits the mound.

After hearing all the hype after his first start owners have seen nothing but disastrous starts with 20ER's in his past 5 while adding 3 losses. Fantasy owners, make sure to keep an unbias pair of glasses on when ever you are evaluating rookies. Look at his numbers in the minors and NEVER assume he will do those things in the majors. If you are an owner who put Cueto as your 2nd or 3rd pitcher you are in a little trouble. This kid is worth a 4th or 5th spot in your rotation but at the moment he's actually worth a bench spot until he shows some improvement.

Owners who grabbed him off the waiver wire should be respected for finding a kid like this but don't fall in love with prospects, that usually leads you to a result other than a championship.
