Bruce the Hype

With all the hype surrounding the call-up of Jay Bruce of the Reds he sure did live up to it. In his major league debut Bruce did not disappoint the fans who flashed hundreds of cameras when he came up to bat while yelling, "Brrrruuuuuucccccceeeee" something usually reserved for Isaac Bruce of the St. Louis Rams of the NFL.

In his first game, Bruce went 3-3, 2R's, 2RBI's, 2BB's, and 1SB. What, no homer? that's pathetic! For those who don't pick up sarcasm, that was it. It was about time Bruce was called up from AAA because he was absolutely tearing things up down there and had nothing else to prove except that he belongs in the big leagues.

Owners who dropped him and lost his services, too bad. Most owners who dropped him were in need of immediate help and only dropped because of roster inflexibility. It's okay, just try to be vigilant for the next upcoming superstar.

Now Bruce is finally here in the big leagues lets move onto the next big prospect. At the moment it's Colby Rasmus, but as mentioned in a previous post he isn't doing so well in AAA so don't expect a call-up anytime soon.

*Side note, with Bruce being called up S. Hatteberg was optioned to AAA. I honestly thought it was going to be Patterson who was going to be let go. Oh well, Patterson is droppable now since Bruce will be the daily CF.
