Injury Report

Gary Sheffield - Tigers - He is on the 15-Day DL with a strained left oblique. With his age (39) he is growing old and his .213AVG coupled with 3HR's and 12RBI's, Shef is worth dropping to the wire. Of course, try to trade him in a 2/1 deal just to see if their is interest in this former slugger. Jeff Larish will take the empty spot vacated by Shef. Larvish is hitting well this year in AAA batting .277 with 16HR's and 43RBI's. Pick him up in AL-only leagues.

Travis Hafner - Indians - Hafner is not officially on the DL yet but after missing his latest game and with reports coming out of Cleveland saying his sore right shoulder might need a DL stint, expect more days off or a DL stint. Hopefully he goes on the DL so owners can use the DL spot or at least know for certain how bad the injury is. Hafner is a tough batter to judge, he has the ability to carry your team but he hasn't impressed this year or last year. I would wait until this injury is finalized before making and moves. But if someone offers a fair trade, take it.

Eric Byrnes - Diamondbacks - Is on the 15-Day DL with a strained right hamstring. Owners, don't expect a repeat of 2007 from Byrnes, it was a career year. He still ha value though.

Andruw Jones - Dodgers - Had surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks. He should be dropped.

Ian Kennedy - Yankees - Left the game with a strained right latissimus dorsi muscle (muscle in your back). With him pitching so poorly, owners shouldn't even have him on their teams.

Daisuke Matsuzaka - Red Sox - Left the game with a tired shoulder. Keep an eye out for this situation and how it unfolds. He may land himself on the DL just for preventative reasons. He is a keeper for all rosters so just wait for more news.
