Bedard/King Felix

There is good news and bad news for the Mariners.

Bad news first, Erik Bedard will miss his next start on Wednesday due to back spasms. This is terrible news for owners who drafted him in the early rounds expecting a repeat of 2007. So far this season, he has disappointed owners with inconsistent pitching and, of course, the injuries. In my eyes, the injuries are all linked to each other. Injuries seem to change his mechanics which leads to more stress to another area. Just hope this back spasm thing doesn't last too long or leads to more pain in other areas of the body. I am assuming the Mariners are going to take this slowly and try to get him back healthly just in case they want to trade him before the July 31 deadline.

Good news, King Felix will not miss his next start because of a strained left ankle. Owners should breathe a sigh of relief.
